I appreciated the well researched and thought out ideas presented in this book as well as all the personal stories and experiences that reinforced the concepts. As an educator in an early childhood, special needs program, I see great value in following the advice given by Debbie in raising a special needs child to be as independent and capable as possible in handling his/her own life. Your Book Changed My Life
About a year before I purchased the book, our daughter began to struggle with health issues. We visited a rheumatologist who said she did not want to treat her and recommended that we take her to a teaching hospital where a team of doctors could evaluate her. That night after her appointment I was devastated and fatigued. God brought the image on the front cover of your book to my mind and I dug it out from my shelf. I felt like you were writing about my life and my every emotion. I have since recommended that book to every person that I know has a child with special needs.
